A Light to Follow

Updated: May 30, 2024

From Texas Fishing Buddy, Ricky, conveying the power of his recent experience

“I can’t begin to explain the impact that this organization has on people’s lives, including mine. Through Reel Recovery bonds, are made, friendships are built, and helping hands are given. It gives people a light to follow in the darkest of places, it makes even the most violent waters calm, it brings hope when you think hope is gone.

I’m so thankful to have been given the opportunity to share my passion of fishing and fly tying with these men. I’m so proud that my fellow buddies/staff and I get to help these fine gentlemen find themselves again. I’m equally as thankful from the things that I learn from them while out on the water. They’ve taught me to live in the moment, spread love, be kind, do the things I’ve been wanting to and even how to find good in the darkest of moments. I couldn’t ask for a better way to give back to the sport I love so much. Thank you to everyone at Reel Recovery for letting me a part of this awesome and powerful movement!”
