20 Years Ago Today; “Be Well! Fish On!”

June3, 2003, we concluded our first ever Reel Recovery Retreat. Four men, all with brain cancer, laughed and cried together, shared their cancer stories and caught dozens of healthy trout on the ponds of Sylvan Dale Ranch in Loveland, CO.  When our Founder, Stu Brown, left the Retreat to head for more surgery, he wrote on the dirty window of a volunteer’s pick-up “Be Well! Fish On!” and to this day, we end every Retreat shouting that motto as loud as we can, so Stu can hear it, proud as he must be that his legacy has lived on 20 years after his passing.
